Boy and Bear to perform at Falls Festival

5 time ARIA winners Boy and Bear are among the early big names announced for this summer’s Falls Festival.

The former Triple J Unearthed champs, who collected the Best Group gong among others at last year’s ARIAs, will put in one of their last appearances at Falls before heading to the US to record a follow-up to the highly successfulMoonfire.

The festival grounds in Lorne, Victoria, and Marion Bay, Tasmania, are set to be turned into a Gangsta’s Paradise with Grammy-winning rapper Coolio also on the bill.

Popsters Best Coast and Beach House will add to the coastal settings. Oklahoma veterans The Flaming Lips, UK indie types The Vaccines and dub man SBTRKT are among the other bookings.

Sonic adventurer Sampology will present a sound and video mash-up of Falls history to celebrate 20 years at Lorne and 10 in Tasmania.

Around 80 acts will perform in total, with more announcements to come.

The Victorian event runs from December 28 to January 1 and the Tasmanian event runs from December 29 to January 1.
