The Beach Boys (left to right): Carl Wilson, D...
The original Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine will come together for the first time in decades to celebrate 50 years with an album and a tour. They will be joined by Bruce Johnston, and David Marks.

The genius of Brian Wilson has certainly endured but will 50 gigs on an International Tour will be too much for him. Truly a larger undertaking but one worth the effort. Beach Boys fans around the world will be excited and thrilled to know they will have perhaps one last opportunity to see the surviving orginal members play together again. We hope Brian is up to it and that his journey on this tour is a safe one. There must be some nervous about the toll such a big tour might have on Brian Wilson.

The Beach Boys have already recorded several songs for their new album, to be released in 2012 by Capitol/EMI, with more tracks to be recorded before its completion.  The as-yet-untitled album, the first to feature all of the band’s surviving original members in decades, is being produced by Brian Wilson and executive produced by Mike Love. Bless those Beach Boys.

A man affiliated with a hacking group ‘Anonymous‘ was arrested in the US for an attack on a website belonging to KISS bassist Gene Simmons, authorities said.Gene Simmons, singer and bassist of Kiss

Kevin Poe was indicted in Los Angeles on two counts: conspiracy and unauthorised impairment of a protected computer. Poe made his initial appearance in court in Hartford, Connecticut and was released on $10,000 bond.

If convicted of both charges, the Manchester man faces up to 15 years in prison. An email message left for deputy federal public defender Deirdre Murray was not immediately returned.

Poe and others linked to the hacking group conducted a “denial of service” attack over a five-day period last October against Simmons’ computer systems, sending tens of thousands of electronic requests designed to overload the server and render www.GeneSimmons.com useless.

Poe used a computer program favored by Anonymous that sends extremely large requests over a network in an attempt to overwhelm a target computer, according to the indictment.

Authorities didn’t say why Simmons was targeted, but he made comments against copyright infringement at a convention in Cannes, France, days before the cyber attack.

No other arrests have been made.

Anonymous’ targets have included MasterCard, Visa and the Church of Scientology. The group has turned its focus to law enforcement, intelligence and military-related sites.

Representatives for Simmons declined comment. The 62-year-old rocker was at a courthouse for jury duty, according to his Twitter account.

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse has made it to the top of the UK’s album chart more than four months after her death.

Her posthumous collection Lioness: Hidden Treasures, featuring original tracks and covers, bumped singer Olly Murs from the No.1 slot following its release last Monday.

Producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi compiled the 12 songs after listening to hours of vocals by the singer.

Much of the new material came from sessions for the albums that made Winehouse’s name,Frank and Back to Black.

Lioness sold more than 194,000 copies in just a week – the singer’s biggest tally of her career, according to the Official Charts Company.

Some of the proceeds from the album will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which her family has set up in her name and is aimed at supporting young people.

The singer, whose battle with substance abuse was well-publicised, died at age 27 on July 23. An inquest later found she had been more than five times the UK’s legal drunk driving limit when she died.
