SUPERSTAR Beyonce Knowles has taken a provocative turn in her musical career appearing alongside Lady Gaga in a weird new video clip for their single Video Phone.
In the video, Beyonce struts around in a range of skimpy outfits while paying tribute the film Reservoir Dogs and ‘50s pin-up girl Bettie Page.
But it’s the edgier moments, such as the Single Ladies singer holding a toy gun up to the heads of bare-chested hooded men, that suggest she is determined to shake up her image.
According to the Huffington Post, Gaga said last month that she told Beyonce, “’I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video. ‘I said, ‘I want to do you.’”
The Video Phone collaboration is one of the biggest of the year and shows that Gaga’s daring public image is something other stars are looking to ape.
Before Gaga’s tour with Kanye West was cancelled last month, the two appeared in a Madonna-esque arty promo clip which featured a naked woman resembling the singer laid out in a man’s arms.
